Architect Functions 401*

Sandhill Academy's Architect Functions 401 offers advanced courses for data architects and modelers, including DBMS-specific courses covering CA's ERwin® support for Complete Compare, Model Manager, and Macro Scripting. Also covered in depth are Reverse Engineering and Forward Engineering functions called from CA ERwin's Complete Compare function. Architect Functions 401 courses include:

Complete Compare (for Oracle, SQL Server, DB2, or Intra Model)

Complete Compare series of DBMS-specific courses offer in-depth coverage of the important Complete Compare function in relation to a specific DBMS. The intra model version of the course offers generic Complete Compare instruction and concentrates on model-to-model comparisons, only touching briefly on model-to-database comparisons. Assuming basic understanding and experience with CA ERwin, Complete Compare's DBMS-specific courses require a working knowledge of the database as well. Complete Compare is available only as a one-day instructor-led training class, held on-site at client locations.

Model Manager Workshop

Model Manager Workshop covers two different topics and two different audiences. The section dealing with setup and administration will target users involved in these tasks and will be specific to the DBMS (SQL Server, Oracle or Sybase) on which the repository is to be hosted. The second element focuses on working with the repository on a day-to-day basis and is aimed at the ERwin user who works with models held in Model Manager repository. Model Manager Workshop is available as one-day training sessions, held on-site at client locations.

Macro Scripting

Macro Scripting provides an introduction to using CA's ERwin macro language support for managing object naming, defining stored procedure and trigger templates, defining and using table and model-level scripts, and customizing DDL generation. Aimed at students with in-depth knowledge of ERwin, the course provides an understanding of current and emerging macro functionality within ERwin, and how to use macro scripting to extend and customize ERwin's functionality. Macro Scripting is available only as a one-day instructor-led training class, held on-site at client locations.
