Fundamentals of ERwin 201*

Sandhill Academy's Fundamentals of ERwin 201 teaches the fundamentals of using CA's ERwin® line of data modeling solutions, and includes a course designed to familiarize IT managers with ERwin. The two-part introductory course reviews data modeling basics, progressively moving to more advanced aspects of working with objects, attributes, structures within ERwin. Fundamentals of ERwin 201 courses include:

ERwin Fundamentals I

ERwin Fundamentals I briefly reviews data modeling fundamentals, and delivers a basic introduction to CA's ERwin Data Modeler. The course teaches the essential features of an ERwin data model, shows how to create and define basic data model objects and basic relational structures, and demonstrates defining and using constraints. The physical elements of this one-day course are focused on generics rather than DBMS-specific support. ERwin Fundamentals I is available only as an instructor-led training class, held on-site at client locations.

ERwin Fundamentals II

ERwin Fundamentals II is an introduction to ERwin features used in many organizations to leverage greater benefits from the tool. Building on the foundation of ERwin Fundamentals I, this course offers more in-depth understanding of the links between a combined logical/physical model, and an overview of ERwin’s Layer Architecture. The one-day course covers ERwin features for data warehousing, naming and datatype standards, domains, layer architecture, generalization hierarchies, transforms, and more. ERwin Fundamentals II is available only as an instructor-led training class, held on-site at client locations.

ERwin for Managers

ERwin for Managers is designed to familiarize IT managers with the application and benefits of CA’s ERwin® data modeling line of products. Oriented to the needs of IT database administrators, ERwin for Managers explored how ERwin-based data modeling can become an integral part of the entire database-development process, and the key element of data warehousing projects. ERwin for Managers is a half-day course available only as an instructor-led training class, held on-site at client locations.
