The new version of Quest’s erwin Data Modeler not only adds six NoSQL modeling platforms, but also includes Databricks connection to relational databases, offering more integrated DBMS functionality. Additionally, GitHub connectivity through Mart makes it easier to access, collaborate, govern, and reuse models with DevOps. This update also incorporates Data Vault 2.0 modeling and improvements in productivity, interface, database and Mart.

  1. Existing database connectivity now includes support for Databricks, extending traditional modelling options.

 

  1. DevOps GitHub integration with Mart: Mart incorporates the data definition language (DDL) for data modelling directly into GitHub/Git repositories. Thus, users stay on the platform and transfer DDLs easily, improving accuracy, traceability and cooperation, as well as saving time. Developers and database administrators no longer rely on modelling teams to obtain DDLs when transferring them to GitHub.

 

  1. Productivity and user interface enhancements: This update series is specifically designed to optimize the modeling user experience. First and foremost, these enhancements streamline processes by automating repetitive tasks. In addition, they increase visibility within the modeling environment.

 

  1. Database enhancements: Major enhancement made to support complex Oracle views, updates to JSON reverse engineering and support for Snowflake Tag feature.

 

  1. Mart enhancements: To improve both the user experience and security, several updates were made, including extending character lists, increasing testing and connection capabilities
