Colouring Subject Area Members in erwin Data Modeler
In r7, many users applied different colors to the members of each subject area to maintain this differentiation in the Main Subject Area. Recently, a user contacted me because he could not replicate this functionality in r8.
With the introduction of Themes in erwin Data Modeler r8, you can style your diagrams in various ways. To apply a theme, use a Subject Area diagram and apply the theme to its members via the Bulk Editor, as demonstrated in the video.
The basic steps are:
First, create an entity diagram at the model level. Then, make one for each thematic area and apply a specific theme to each one. Select all the elements of the diagram and, using the mass editor, assign the chosen theme. Finally, go back to the model-level diagram to see the results.
